Miss Childersburg Scholarship Program crowns new 2018 Queens

Moving up about five months in the calendar, the Miss Childersburg Scholarship Program presented their annual Miss Childersburg & Miss Childersburg’s Outstanding Teen Pageants over the weekend, as 15 outstanding young women competed for the two titles.

Before we get to the winners, we wanted to remind you of a couple of important factors:

1. As a part of the Miss America Organization, the local pageant helps raise the total of $45-million dollars in cash & tuition scholarsihip assistance each year. That makes it one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the wolrd’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women!

2. Each year, tens of thousands of Miss America volunteers generate more than 500,000 hours of service to over 6,000 community service projects, making Miss America one of the strongest service organizations in the country!

Now, for the results:

Each year, the contestants in the Miss Alabama & Alabama’s Outstanding Teen Pageants choose a young girl between the ages of 7 and 11 to serve as her Rising Star. These young ladies have the opportunity to spend the day with contestants at the state pageants and learn first-hand about the experience. The 2018 Rising Star for our Childersburg Pageant is Raye Sides!
