As the weather starts to warm up a bit, Saturday (1/6) will be our warmest day in a while – reaching a whopping 40’s. And Childersburg First Lady, Trisha Wesson, has sent out a call for volunteers to help with the next phase of our downtown clean-up project – the take-down of Christmas-themed decoration. Some progress has been made, and if you would like to work Saturday here is what we need help with:
1) A crew of about 4 to take down lights and dismantle displays at the police department and fire department. It shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes to an hour to get that done.
2) A crew of about 10 volunteers to window wash – Paper towels and Windex will be provided. We will need ladders and step stools. This should take only a couple of hours if we have enough help.
Each person or persons that decorated a store will be responsible for their store. I will have boxes outside of J & J for lights and extension cords we have supplied for you, or you may want to donate.
Wesson added, “Thank you all again! It has been so much fun working with all of you!”
Also, plans are being formulated to develop a new theme for the next phase of downtown decoration. Please stand ready to help with that, as well!
