Childersburg Council held a brief meeting Tuesday (6/20)

There wasn’t much on the agenda when the Childersburg Council gathered for their second June meeting on Tuesday, June 20th at City Hall.

Councilman Michael McLain gave a report on the recent activity from the Childersburg Police Department. Councilman Glenn Stubblefield reported that the Parks & Recreation Department is looking into the possibilities of bidding to host sports tournaments as both a source of additional revenue, as well as promoting tourism in the city.

Invoices were approved in the amount of $131,000.69 before the meeting was adjourned for a Town Hall Meeting.

Most of the issues discussed during that public discussion portion of the meeting concerned nuisance abatement issues, as well as the steps the city is taking to address them.

Mayor Ken Wesson reminded citizens that the first regular Council meeting for July will be held on Tuesday, July 11th because of the July 4th holiday.
